October 10th marked the release of Battlefield 6, one of 2025's most anticipated shooters. The game is now available across PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, with the PC version accessible via Steam, EGS, and the EA app.

One hour after launch, peak concurrent players on Steam topped 700,000.

Battlefield 6 was developed by DICE, Criterion, Ripple Effect, and Motive, all powered by the Frostbite engine. The project offers a single-player campaign alongside a robust multiplayer experience featuring nine maps and various modes, including Conquest, Breakthrough, King of the Hill, Domination, Rush, Squad Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, and Escalation. Ahead of launch, initial reviews for the shooter began to surface online. While critics gave the single-player campaign a lukewarm reception, they were largely thrilled with the multiplayer, praising its class system, graphics, sound design, and destructibility. Recently, the developers announced the content roadmap for Season 1, set to launch on October 28th and unfold in three phases. Battlefield 6 will receive new maps including Blackwell Fields, Eastwood, and a winter-themed Empire State map, along with the new Strikepoint and Sabotage modes (limited-time), the Ice Lock event (limited-time), new weapons such as the SOR-300C, Mini Fix, GGH-22, DB-12, M327 Trait, and an ice axe, the Traverser Mark 2 vehicle, and more.

Recently, the PC version of Battlefield 6 was benchmarked across 43 different graphics cards at 1080p, 1440p, and 2160p resolutions. This followed a new PC gameplay trailer from NVIDIA, showcasing the performance of DLSS 4 technology.
