Hunt for Jadeite Orb: Dragon's Dogma 2 Walkthrough Guide
In the quest «Hunt for the Jadeite Sphere» in Dragon's Dogma 2, players must find a mysterious sphere hidden within the city. As they complete the quest, they will be faced with a crucial choice: who to give the orb to? To add intrigue, players can craft a fake orb, devising a clever ruse to outwit the quest-givers. In this step-by-step guide, we'll detail where to find the right item and who best to give it to.
How to complete the Hunt for Jadeite Orb quest
The quest begins when you first visit the Border Town and walk past the fountain. A beastman named Ofaliy will approach the protagonist and plead for the recovery of the Jadeite Sphere.
However, if you delve deeper into the town and approach the pharmacy, you'll meet another character, a human named Everard. He will also tell you about the item and ask that you give the sphere to him upon finding it.
As you might have gathered, the rewards for completing the quest will depend on whom you return the ill-fated sphere to. But there are some nuances here as well, which we will discuss below. First, in any case, you'll need to find the item itself.
If you carefully examine the city map, you will find a peculiar shop called «Ibrahim's Ironmongery.» This is exactly where you need to go. Talk to the craftsman and inspect his goods. Among them, the jadeite sphere will be modestly lying (it is also on the counter). The item costs 7500 gold.
The trick is that after purchasing it, you can order the craftsman to make a counterfeit and give both men what they want. But there are nuances here as well:
- When you give the sphere to Everard, whether it's a fake or the real item, he will take it to Ibrahim to check for authenticity. In this case, you can bribe the craftsman and receive a reward. If Everard finds out about the fake, he will turn to the local guard, and you will most likely be detained (unless you manage to escape);
- If you give the fake sphere to Ofaliy, he will not check it, and the reward will not change.
Thus, if you don't want to spend extra money bribing Ibrahim, it's best to give the real sphere to Everard and the fake to Ofaliy.
Rewards:
- Reward from Everard: 1000 experience, Ring of Deceit, 12,000 gold;
- Reward from Ofaliy: 1000 experience, Elite Marching Backpack, 3,000 gold.
