The new 1.4 update for Genshin Impact has brought a plethora of new content, including the addition of a new character — the nun Rosaria. In this guide, we will cover all the available information about her.

Rosaria is a 4-star character, making her significantly easier to obtain through wishes than 5-star characters. Currently, Rosaria is not available in the game. According to fan speculation, she will not be unlockable until the beginning of April. There is still no official information.

Rosaria serves the church, but she hardly resembles a typical nun, except maybe in terms of her attire. First and foremost, she is an experienced cryo fighter and is proficient with a spear.

Rosaria's base attack of 20 gives her a slight advantage over other four-star characters with polearm weapons and cryo fighters. Rosaria is a strong warrior because her base defense is 60, which is higher than most. This allows her to compete with characters like Xiao and Hu Tao.

Active Abilities

Spear of the Church

  • Normal Attack: Rosaria performs up to five consecutive spear strikes.
  • Charged Attack: Rosaria dashes forward and deals damage to enemies in her path. This attack consumes stamina.
  • Plunging Attack: Rosaria plunges her spear into the ground, dealing damage to all enemies in her path and ending with an area of effect damage.

Elemental Skill: Ravaging Confession — Rosaria teleports behind her enemy to deliver a devastating cryo attack. This skill does not work on larger enemies, including bosses.

Elemental Burst: Rites of Termination — Rosaria attacks nearby enemies with a wide spear strike, followed by ice spears that emerge from the ground, dealing cryo damage over 8 seconds.

Passive Abilities

  • Night Walk: basic ability; increases the movement speed of selected characters by 10% between 6 PM and 6 AM. The effect does not stack with similar ones and does not work in Domains or the Spiral Abyss.
  • Regina Probationum: ability unlocked at Ascension Phase 2; using Ravaging Confession increases Rosaria's critical hit chance by 12% for five seconds.
  • Shadow Samaritan: available at Ascension Phase 4; upon activating an Elemental Burst, the critical damage chance of other party members is increased by 15% of Rosaria's critical damage rate for 10 seconds. The bonus value cannot exceed 15% of the base amount.

Constellations

  • Unholy Revelation: Rosaria's critical hits increase her attack speed by 10% for four seconds, and her normal attack damage by 10% also for four seconds.
  • Land Without Promise: When using Rites of Termination, the ice spears remain active for an additional four seconds.
  • The Wages of Sin: Increases the level of Ravaging Confession by three. Maximum level is 15.
  • Painful Grace: Critical hits with Ravaging Confession restore five energy to Rosaria. This effect can only occur once when Rosaria uses Ravaging Confession.
  • Last Rites: Increases the level of Rites of Termination by three. Maximum level is 15.
  • Divine Retribution: Rites of Termination reduces the physical resistance of opponents by 20% for ten seconds.

Character Ascension Materials

To complete all the ascension phases, you need to successfully fight the Cryo Regisvine for materials. This is the only way to obtain Shivada Jade items and Hoarfrost Cores. Recruit's, Sergeant's, and Lieutenant's Insignias can be obtained by defeating Fatui agents. Valberries grow only at Stormbearer Point and Stormbearer Mountains.

  • Level 20: 1 Shivada Jade Sliver, 3 Valberries, 3 Recruit's Insignias, 20,000 Mora;
  • Level 40: 3 Shivada Jade Fragments, 2 Hoarfrost Cores, 10 Valberries, 15 Recruit's Insignias, 40,000 Mora;
  • Level 50: 6 Shivada Jade Fragments, 4 Hoarfrost Cores, 20 Valberries, 12 Sergeant's Insignias, 60,000 Mora;
  • Level 60: 3 Shivada Jade Chunks, 8 Hoarfrost Cores, 30 Valberries, 18 Sergeant's Insignias, 80,000 Mora;
  • Level 70: 6 Shivada Jade Chunks, 12 Hoarfrost Cores, 45 Valberries, 12 Lieutenant's Insignias, 100,000 Mora;
  • Level 80: 6 Shivada Jade Gemstones, 20 Hoarfrost Cores, 60 Valberries, 24 Lieutenant's Insignias, 120,000 Mora.

Best Builds

Rosaria is a DPS fighter whose standout features include a high frequency of critical hits, high attack potential, and an elemental skill that enhances both. Your Rosaria build should aim to amplify any of these aspects.

Build 1

Weapon: Skyward Spine

The Skyward Spine increases energy recharge by 20% by level 40. This means Rosaria can use Ravaging Confession more frequently and increase her critical hit chance with Regina Probationum. The secondary effect of the Skyward Spine increases the owner's critical damage rate by an additional 8-16% in addition to creating an effect when the owner uses a charged attack.

Weapon: Favonius Lance — a good alternative if you have it. Slightly weaker and lacks critical enhancement, but charges energy even faster.

Artifacts: Berserker set

This is a flexible build with several possible artifact combinations. If you're opting for a critical hit-oriented build, the Berserker set is an excellent choice. A 2-piece set increases crit by 12%, and a 4-piece set further increases crit by 24% when health drops below 70%. You're most likely to find Berserker artifacts when you defeat bosses.

If you agree to only two Berserker artifacts, then the two-piece set bonus from Gambler is an effective addition — it increases elemental skill damage by 20%. Alternatively, the 2-piece set bonus from Scholar increases energy recharge by 20%, making it another viable option with Berserker.

Build 2

Weapon: Dragonspine Spear

The Dragonspine Spear increases all physical damage and has a special charged effect. Charged attacks have a high chance to create a large icicle above enemies, which crashes down and deals 80-140% AoE damage. This number increases to 200-360% damage if the enemy is affected by cold, turning Rosaria into a devastating ice assassin.

Both spears in the builds are four-star weapons. If you don't have either, a good alternative would be the three-star White Tassel, as it increases the likelihood of critical and normal attack damage.

Artifacts: Martial Artist and Gladiator

Martial Artist increases normal and charged attack power by 15% with a two-piece bonus. With a four-piece bonus, power increases by 25% for eight seconds after using an elemental skill. The 2-piece Gladiator set bonus increases attack by 18%, and the 4-piece bonus increases normal attack power by 35% if the wielder uses a polearm.

When choosing squad members, it should be based on the characters that are available. However, there are a few ideal team compositions involving Rosaria:

Team 1: Rosaria, Kaeya, Fischl, Venti.

Team 2: Rosaria, Tartaglia, Albedo, Bennett.
