In today's article, we'll talk about where you can quickly and easily find and take fusion cores in the world of Fallout 4. What are they for? To power up the power armor and have the ability to run fast and hit enemies with strong attacks. Without a fusion core, the power armor is practically useless.

It might seem, what could be the problem? The developers of Fallout 4 from Bethesda did not allow charging fusion cores under makeshift conditions, so they can either be bought or found. It's not that fusion cores are so expensive, especially if you have enough bases in the Commonwealth and you have a stable income from them. However, if you are a lone wolf who saves every Nuka Cola cap, you probably wouldn't want to spend money on them. By the way, here's what it looks like:

This article is intended for such players, however, first a few general tips.

How many fusion cores are there in the world of Fallout 4?

According to the interactive map, there are 71 units at the time of writing this article, but this is far from the full number. Of course, it's difficult to list all of them in this material, so we've only gathered those that can be quickly taken even by a novice. The rest can be found through the hints of the aforementioned site, turn off all marks (Hide All), and then enable the display of Fusion Core marks in the left menu.

Where can you buy fusion cores in Fallout 4?

Another very common question, however, they can be found for sale from most Commonwealth vendors, so you can, for example, turn to Arturo in Diamond City. To buy several fusion cores, you can save and reload — after this action, the list of goods is replenished for each vendor.

Now let's move on to the promised list, where you will find mentions of 30 fusion cores.

Red Rocket Truck Stop — 1 fusion core

The second location you will find in the course of the game. All you need to do is find the cave located under this structure. It's quite easy to do — you need to walk around the truck stop and carefully descend the hill. You will find an entrance, going through which you will end up in the right place. Search the cave and you will find 1 fusion core.

Northeast of Vault 111 — 5 fusion cores

Yes, that's right. Not counting the core obtained from the point above and the story quest in the museum in Concord, in a small radius from Vault 111, in the northeast direction, you can find another 5 cores.

The first is located in a building in Concord, in the middle between the museum and Red Rocket, you need to find a water drain (water collector) and search it. The next one is located northeast of the previous point, in the Quarry, inside a trailer lit by spotlights, you will need lockpicking skills to access it.

Move from the Quarry to the north, and you will see the antenna array of the USAF Satellite Station Olivia. Search the generator located in the underground bunker, but be careful — it's full of raiders.

Now head northwest to the edge of the map, find the Robotics Disposal Ground. First, find the sentry robot, in front of it in a small quarry lies one fusion core. Now hack the robot's control panel and order it to self-destruct. This will allow you to take another fusion core. You can also kill the robot (if you're strong enough) and get two fusion cores.

Lexington — 3 fusion cores

In this small suburb, the developers scattered 3 fusion cores, all located in different places.

The easiest one is located in the Super Duper Mart, you just need to search it carefully. Another core lies in a military transport parked on Lexington Street, you'll have to scramble around to find it.

The last core is the hardest to extract, as it is hidden in a safe, in the foundation between the Retirement Home and Mystic Pines, you will need an almost fully upgraded lockpicking skill.

Kellogg's house in Diamond City — 4 fusion cores

This is a fairly simple task, not requiring explanations, as it is part of a story quest. Once you arrive in Diamond City and locate Detective Nick Valentine, he will give you the Getting a Clue quest, as part of which you will have to look into Kellogg's house, located on the southern side of the city, on its second level. Be attentive — there's a hidden room.

Fort Hagen — 1 fusion core

This building is located on the western outskirts of the Commonwealth and represents an old base and settlement. To avoid immediate death, we strongly recommend you move stealthily and not shoot unnecessarily. Inside, the fort is populated with synths, so you will have to fight properly.

After dealing with the enemies, you need to go to its central square, go down to the basement, find the room with generators, and there you will see a fusion core in one of the engines.

Starlight — 1 fusion core

This is another settlement you will visit if you want to quickly get a fusion core. Carefully search the back of the remains of the movie screen (three-story building), pick the lock to the storage room (medium difficulty level). Inside, you will find not only the treasure itself but also a bunch of other useful things.

The Castle — 1 fusion core

In Fallout 4, The Castle is the former main base of the Minutemen faction and can become your base if you manage to clear it from the mirelurk water creatures. Once you complete the main quest related to this area and allow the Minutemen to unlock it, carefully search the interior of the fort. There you will find a missile launcher, a flamethrower, a bit of ammunition for each of these guns, and the fusion core is located in the armory tunnels, in a locked storage room.

Weston Water Treatment Plant — 4 fusion cores

This territory (Weston Water Treatment Plant) is located on water and is inhabited by mutants, so you will need to prepare thoroughly for its assault. The cores are located in the underground level of the building, in different parts of it, so you will have to search every room.

Greenetech Genetics — 3 fusion cores

The Greenetech Genetics building is full of raiders, so take all the free weapons, grenades, Molotov cocktails, melee weapons, and be ready for a serious cleanup. After it, you can start searching for the three fusion cores, scattered in different places on two levels of the building. Be careful, as there are turrets and tripwires that can easily end the life of a character.

Hardware Town — 4 fusion cores

Like the previous territory, Hardware Town is swarming with raiders, but there are also hand robots, turrets, and many other dangers lurking there. However, well-armed, you can achieve success, and it's better to start searching for the 4 fusion cores after a complete cleanup, they, as in the previous case, are scattered in different places on various levels of the building.

Recon Bunker Theta — 2 fusion cores

This perfectly habitable base, located in the center of the northern border of the Commonwealth, is part of The Lost Patrol quest. You will need to defend the base from super mutants, so be ready for a fierce fight. After everything is over and the base's residents are sure that all attackers have been eliminated, you will be able to get inside and take 2 fusion cores there.
