How and Where to Farm Hero's Experience in Genshin Impact

Hero's Experience in Genshin Impact allows you to level up your character before further ascending them. Unlike other games in similar genres, to level up a hero in Genshin Impact, users need to do more than just fight monsters and explore the game's open world. To level up heroes, you need to find and use special items. From this guide, you will learn which items to use to level up your hero, as well as where to find such items in the game.

Character experience in Genshin Impact can be gained in the standard way — by simply defeating any enemies. However, to level up even one level this way, it would take a lot of real time and killing a lot of monsters. That's why there are special items in the game that allow you to increase character experience at any time convenient for you.

To gain hero experience in the game, you will need to find one of three special items:

The main way to obtain such items is by searching for various chests in the open world of Genshin Impact. It's no secret that while exploring new regions, you will inevitably come across chests scattered throughout the world, guarded by various monsters. These chests are the primary source of character experience.

The more valuable the chest, the better the reward you will get. For example, in common chests, you can find Wanderer's Advice or Adventurer's Experience, and in precious chests and better, you will definitely find Hero's Wit.

You can track the exact location of chests using the official interactive map of Genshin Impact. Open the map, find the Chest tab, and mark the chests you are interested in. After that, all the selected chests will be displayed on the global map.

Any Genshin Impact player knows that exploring the world can bring many useful items and help increase your character's adventure experience. But there is also a special Adventures menu in the game, where you can track current tasks and rewards for completing them.

Open the Adventures menu and go to the Experience tab. All tasks in this tab are divided into chapters. Completing tasks in some chapters will definitely give you Adventurer's Experience as well as Hero's Wit.

A great way to quickly farm the necessary amount of experience for your characters is to complete all the main quests (Archon quests), legend quests, and as many world quests as possible.

By completing such quests, you will only receive Hero's Wit, which allows you to quickly level up your characters for further ascension.

One of the additional activities in the game is exploring Ley Line Outcrops. There are two types of blossoms in the game: Blossoms of Revelation and Blossoms of Wealth, but experience for characters can only be obtained by exploring the first type of blossoms.

Open the game map and find the same icon as shown in the screenshot above. Use fast travel to the area where the Blossoms of Revelation are currently located and fight a dozen enemies. After defeating the monsters, interact with the blossom and use Original Resin to claim your reward.

After each subsequent exploration of Ley Line Outcrops, the blossom will move around the world of Genshin Impact in a random direction. For one such battle, you will receive 13 or 14 Adventurer's Experience items.

Each new update in Genshin Impact adds several seasonal events or activities to the game, by participating in which you can get nice rewards, including experience for your character.

With some patches in Genshin Impact, a new battle pass is introduced. All battle passes have a standard access (paid) and a Wanderer's access (free). For each subsequent level of the battle pass, you will receive various rewards such as mora, Adventurer's Experience, Mystic Enhancement Ore, and other rewards.

To level up the battle pass, simply complete straightforward daily and weekly tasks, as well as special assignments for the current battle pass period. All available tasks and assignments can be tracked in the Battle Pass / Missions tab.

To use such items to gain character experience, simply open the heroes menu, select the desired hero, and click on the Level Up button in the bottom right corner of the screen. A window will open where the game will offer to choose one of the three available items for leveling up.
