99 Waves to Die is a twin-stick arcade shooter inspired by arcade games and 8-bit home computers and consoles of the 1980s. The player pilots a ship and fights off successive waves of enemies, aiming to survive until wave 99.
The ship has three lives, a limited supply of smart bombs, and scarce power-ups. Conserving these resources while repelling the enemy attacks is central to the gameplay. The game uses voxel-based graphics and 8-bit-style sound effects.
