Adventureland — controlled using written commands. They can consist of a single word, such as those used for the player character's movement, including north, south, east, west, up and down. They can also take the form of simple two-word phrases consisting of verbs and nouns, such as “climb a tree.” Although the game can recognize about 120 words, the parser only takes into account the first 3 letters. This means not only that the parser will sometimes misidentify words, but also that commands may be truncated: lig lam will be interpreted as light lamp.
