Baldr Sky

This cyberpunk visual novel combines its story with battles fought in mechanical suits. Mercenary Kou Kadokura sets out to uncover the truth behind Gray Christmas, the tragedy that destroyed his peaceful life, but awakens on a virtual battlefield with no memory of how he got there. As war looms in Suzushiro City, answers to the world’s questions lie buried in his past. In this setting, people use brain chips to enter virtual worlds created by artificial intelligence, though connecting to cyberspace can have dire consequences.

Combat takes place in 3D, with weapons that gain experience and develop along a branching tech tree. Mech loadouts can be customized with more than 100 weapons. Progress carries over between playthroughs, unlocking further story branches, while a survival mode and a database covering characters, factions, relationships, and mechs provide additional ways to explore the game.
