This first-person shooter follows scientist Heather Quinn, who becomes trapped in a video-game world after testing brain-scanning technology. She finds herself in Starfire, a violent science-fiction game she played as a teenager, and tries to find a way back to reality.

Gameplay centers on exploring game worlds and engaging in first-person combat. Bedlam draws on the look and feel of online games from the 1980s and 1990s, shifting between genres while remaining in a first-person perspective.
