Set in the Blacklight universe, this futuristic first-person shooter centres on conflicts of the future. In the online NetWar mode, players battle across 12 maps in one of seven modes, with matches supporting up to 16 participants. Four Black Ops missions can also be played solo or cooperatively with a team of up to four.

Combat earns experience and advances the character through 70 levels, unlocking items, camouflage, armor, and weapon attachments. Weapons and character gear can be customized, while abilities can be improved. The Hyper Reality Visor helps locate enemies.
