A 3D fighting game about warriors who transform into beasts and compete to become the champion. Bloody Roar 4 brings back 14 fighters and adds three new characters, with combatants attacking with fangs and claws in their beast forms.

Fights take place in 3D arenas and feature aerial juggles, counters, blocks, and chained attacks. The game includes nine modes, among them Arcade and Character Development, as well as a story mode for each fighter. The new Zoanthropes Gauge ties attack power to health.
