An adventure and walking simulator set in a future where the corporation NATEM controls the internet and most digital services. Broken Reality is a 3D parody of the internet, with varied worlds, characters and secrets to explore.

The player solves puzzles, takes on quirky quests and searches for hidden items. A range of tools aids exploration: a camera reveals secrets, a bookmarker enables teleportation, and a katana can cut through advertisements. Collecting likes upgrades the account and unlocks new levels. The game also features arcade-style minigames and quests involving its characters.
