This tactical action game follows 500 conscripts sent into a war that reaches across the world and into space. They face terrorists equipped with advanced technology, mechanized combat systems and teleportation. Battles take place by day and night, in changing weather and varied conditions, from snowy terrain to lunar and orbital bases.

The soldiers have 17 weapon types and eight kinds of controllable vehicles for land, surface and airborne operations. Missions involve more than eliminating enemies: objectives include capturing vehicles and bases, rescuing hostages and convicts, holding positions, finding data discs and spare parts, repairing robots and navigating minefields. Successful operations earn medals and promotions, while serious offences can lead to a mission being aborted and lesser misbehavior to a reprimand.
