This soccer arcade game follows Tsubasa Oozora as he moves to Brazil and aims to help São Paulo win the Rio Cup. Alongside his story, Nankatsu competes in Japan’s high school championship, before Tsubasa goes on to represent Japan in tournaments and matches against teams from abroad.
Matches use a soccer-simulation format in which the player chooses actions such as dribbling, tackling, intercepting passes, blocking shots and shooting. Available moves depend on the ball’s position: a low ball allows a volley, trap or clearance, while a high one can be met with a header or, in some situations, a bicycle kick. As goalkeeper, the player can catch or punch the ball, and special moves consume the player’s energy.
