Chime is a music puzzle game about arranging shapes on a grid while building a musical track. The player rotates and places pieces to form rectangular blocks called quads and cover the grid before time runs out. Each piece is linked to sounds from the music: filling the grid changes the track, while completing quads triggers musical samples. Reaching full coverage unlocks the complete song.
The game features six levels, each with its own music, grid, and set of shapes. After reaching 100% coverage, the grid can be reset so play can continue and the previous high score can be beaten. Free-play mode offers three difficulty levels, as well as the option to make music without time pressure. Featured musicians include Moby and Paul Hartnoll of Orbital.
