Unreal Engine.ini tweaks aimed at eliminating most stutters, improving performance and stability, reducing input latency, and enhancing image clarity — all without any loss of visual quality. The goal of this mod is to include as many optimizations as possible (for CPU/GPU/RAM/SSD) to remove lag, boost performance, decrease input lag, and sharpen the image (for example, by optimizing Film Grain, Motion Blur, disabling Chromatic Aberration, optimizing DLSS/FSR upscaling and anti-aliasing, reducing ghosting and shimmering), all without introducing visual loss, glitches, or crashes.
Which version to choose: VRR or No VRR?
VRR stands for Variable Refresh Rate, such as NVIDIA G-Sync or AMD Freesync. You need to check if this feature is enabled both in your NVIDIA/AMD Control Panel and on your monitor/TV.
- If enabled everywhere — use the VRR version of the mod;
- If not — use the No VRR version.
How to install on Windows:
- Before installation, launch the game at least once and close it. Then download and extract the Engine.ini file and place it here: %localappdata%\CodeVein2\Saved\Config\Windows;
- Next: right-click the file -> Properties -> check the "Read-Only" box -> Apply/OK.
For Linux / Steam Deck:
- Place the file at: <SteamLibrary folder>/steamapps/compatdata/2362060/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/Local/CodeVein2/Saved/Config/Windows/.
To uninstall the mod, simply delete the modified Engine.ini — the game will generate a default file on the next launch.
