I haven't played this game, but I've watched walkthroughs.
Watched two speedruns on a speedrunning website: one for 30 points and one for 50 points.
Just watching two videos was enough to see the game's full potential and, likely, 100% of its content.
The game itself is extremely simple in implementation, but that's not surprising—it's one of the very first games in history. It would be strange to expect modern graphics from it.
There's a spaceship controlled by the player. It's surprising that such an old game has such a well-developed inertia and moves so smoothly. After crossing the edge of the game field, the spaceship flies out the opposite edge (it's impossible to fly outside the playing field).
The background is a starry sky made up of white dots. The background is completely static and unchanging.
The spaceship can fire, and interestingly, the bullet's flight can be controlled like a guided missile by turning the ship. I especially liked this feature of the game.
Bullets must be fired to kill spawning enemies. Enemies appear in pairs and begin moving around the battlefield, but the enemies are linked, meaning the entire pair moves at the same rate, rather than each member of the pair moving separately. Enemies can also fire bullets.
Killing an enemy adds a point, and after a short delay, the enemy respawns. Colliding with an enemy or a bullet results in death, but colliding with an enemy also kills the enemy, which earns a point.
Frankly, if you don't strive to achieve maximum mastery in the game, its variety dries up very quickly. You can set yourself a mega-goal - Reach 1000 points, and achieving this agonizing goal will exhaust the game's content by 100%. The only thing the game has going for it is the gameplay, and it's incredibly monotonous at that.
I'm not evaluating the game in relative terms, meaning I'm not judging it by its breakthrough at the time, but rather by its absolute value, comparing it to modern games.
