During combat, players must think strategically: account for the opponent's actions, choose the right abilities, and adapt on the fly. Battles resemble chess in that the deciding factor is not raw stats, but a well-planned sequence of actions.

Character development is built around skills, classes, and ability combinations. Companions — known as sylphs — play an important role, determining the type of damage dealt. For example, selecting a fire sylph converts all attacks into that element, directly affecting interactions with the resistance system.

Resistances are a core element of any build. Each element has its own parameter that partially mitigates incoming damage, as well as a resistance penetration stat that increases outgoing damage. In PvP, this works directly: effectiveness depends on the difference between your stat and the opponent's defense. In PvE, the system is simpler but still impacts survivability.

Resistance progression is limited by the overall development system: to increase one parameter, others must also be raised. This prevents players from ignoring secondary stats entirely and encourages more balanced and deliberate progression.

Demon Slayer 4: Ultra offers a wide range of content. PvE includes story missions, expeditions, and boss fights, where preparation and build optimization are essential. PvP is represented by arenas and larger-scale modes where players compete directly against each other.

Guild activities are a major part of the experience. These include large-scale territorial battles, city sieges, and cooperative events. For example, capturing a city is divided into several stages: preparation, the battle itself, and subsequent defense. Players take on roles, secure key points, and earn points by controlling objectives.

Developing your city is a critical part of progression. The central structure, the Metropolis, determines the level of all other buildings and affects gold production. Upgrading it is the foundation of economic growth.

Residential districts increase population limits, which directly affects the size of the available army. Barracks govern military development: as they are upgraded, new unit types become available, each with distinct stats and combat roles. Each unit type has a specialization that can be improved through a separate system, providing additional bonuses.

The warehouse limits resource storage. If the cap is exceeded, certain mechanics become unavailable, making capacity management essential. Production buildings, including the crucible, increase gold income and overall resource generation.

The farm introduces a separate resource loop. Players grow crops, obtain materials, and interact with others: helping on other players' farms provides bonuses and accelerates progression.

Finally, the spiritual academy governs technology. It unlocks permanent bonuses such as stat increases, production speed boosts, and other improvements. The higher its level, the more technologies become available for research.

Demon Slayer 4: Ultra includes a market where players can sell items to others and receive premium currency. Transactions occur across servers, and item prices are constrained within a range based on rarity.

Resources can not only be used but also converted. The primary resource is gold, required for most upgrades. Its main sources are city income and activities in a region known as the Beyond.

The game features a separate map located outside the city. This area hosts many endgame activities, including resource gathering and PvP. It is also where most guild competition takes place. The location is filled with bosses, neutral monsters, mines, and control points that players constantly fight over.

The main objective in the Beyond is to capture and hold resource nodes. Gold mines provide a steady income bonus, while veins enhance already controlled points, increasing overall resource generation.

Player interaction is central here. Many activities, especially boss fights, are designed for groups — handling them solo is difficult. Players rely on coordinates and teleportation to quickly gather and act together.

There are also dedicated modes within the Beyond. For example, the caravan system, where players must capture and escort resource convoys. These routes pass through dangerous areas and can be attacked by others. The higher the caravan level, the greater the reward — but also the higher the risk of losing it along the way.

The Beyond plays a crucial role in overall progression. It is one of the primary sources of resources and a space where PvP and guild interaction fully unfold. Without participating in these activities, progression slows significantly, and access to certain content remains limited.
