Downfall is a horror adventure about Joe, who takes his wife on a romantic getaway in an attempt to save their marriage. The trip descends into insanity, and the story explores love, murder and redemption, raising the question of what kind of man Joe really is: a loving husband, a cold realist or a bitter skeptic.

The game is played from a third-person perspective and includes puzzles. Its story follows Joe’s actions and his journey towards redemption. The original 2009 version of Downfall, a point-and-click adventure, is also included.
