The effects used are designed to make the game world less 'candy-like'. A lot of time was spent on desaturation; for example, the red-yellow hues were reduced from 5% to 20%. Blue-purple colors were increased from 5% to 15%. In short, the dirt roads were too orange, and the sky was not blue enough. The other effects enhance the overall visual experience of the game: artificial HDR, smooth vignette, curves, HSL shift, luma sharpen, film grain, and much more.
