EVE Online's Carbon Engine Goes Open Source on GitHub — Key Economy Systems Remain Closed
FENRIS CREATIONS, formerly known as CCP Games, has released the source code for the Carbon engine that powers the long-running MMO EVE Online. The main modules of Carbon are now freely available for study and use, with both the source code and documentation published on GitHub. The company says the move is aimed at increasing transparency, strengthening community trust, and inviting outside developers to help shape the engine's future.

South Korean publisher Pearl Abyss is officially parting ways with its Western asset—CCP Games, the legendary developer behind EVE Online. The company is selling CCP back to its current management, led by CEO Hilmar Pétursson. The deal is valued at 177.132 billion KRW (approximately $120 million), with the transaction set to close on May 6.
