An excellent shooter with interesting locations, great gunplay, and engaging gameplay. It may not have the best story (stories weren't emphasized before), and the ending is rushed and rushed, but it's still quite good!!!
You have to dive into this game to understand why it became a legend. Yes, the graphics are a bit dated, but that doesn't make it bad. The gameplay is very good. The weapon recoil and gunshot sounds are wonderful.
After all, the first Far Cry isn't just the founder of a large series; it's... more of an artifact of its time and a symbol of a transitional era, because after this game, we'll start getting shooters that are much more interesting than simple corridor shooters. The game shows that the environment can be more than just a background and textures, but a fully-fledged element of gameplay, with vehicles, various routes, and, of course, open landscapes.

Отличный шутер с интересными локациями, классной стрельбой и бодрым геймплеем. Может в игре не самый лучший сюжет (раньше на сюжеты упора не делали), скомканный и быстрый финал, но всё же игра достаточно хороша!!!
В эту игру нужно окунуться и станет понятно почему эта игра стала легендой. Да, графика немного устарела, но это не делает её плохой. В игре очень хороший геймплей. Отдача от оружия и звуки выстрелов — прекрасны.
Всё-таки первый Far Cry — это, не просто родоначальник большой серии, это... скорее артефакт своего времени и символ переходной эпохи потому, что после этой игры мы начнём получать шутеры, которые становятся намного более интересными, чем простые коридорные стрелялки. Игра показывает, что окружение может быть не просто фоном и текстурами, а полноценным элементом геймплея с транспортом и различными маршрутами и, конечно же, открытым ландшафтом.
В каком-то плане Far Cry можно считать старой кассетой с любимым фильмом или мультфильмом детства.
