This retro role-playing game draws on SNES and PS1 classics. After a series of tragedies, Xero and his friends are pulled from their homes into a war between nations. A general gains immense power and goes rogue, threatening humanity; saving the planet may require the heroes to kill a friend.
Combat is turn-based, with elements of an active-time system. Characters learn skills, while weapons, armor, and items can be crafted. Players can also catch monsters, compete in the rank-based Colosseum, and take on side quests. The story explores survival, personal adversity, and the search for a place to call home, balancing tragedy with humor and adult-oriented themes. Travel across the world map includes ships and airships.
