GemCraft - Chasing Shadows is a tower defense strategy game in which magical gems are used to repel hordes of demonic creatures. The player faces successive waves of monsters and stands against an archdemon whose armies threaten to consume the world.

Gems can be placed in towers, traps, and amplifiers, as well as crafted and combined to suit different tactics. Progress unlocks passive skills and spells, while collected fragments grant bonuses to a mystical talisman. The game features nearly two hundred stages with varied conditions, multiple difficulty levels, and an Endurance mode; completed stages can be replayed for experience or a new challenge.
