This gothic mystery adventure follows neurobiologist David Styles, who has become a recluse at Dread Hill House after a tragic accident. Street magician Samantha Everett arrives at his door looking for work, and Styles asks her to find six volunteers for experiments at Oxford University. What begins as an apparently harmless study is followed by a series of unexplained incidents.
Players control Samantha and Styles, explore their surroundings, solve puzzles, and follow the story across eight chapters. Gray Matter brings scientific research together with supernatural events as the investigation raises questions about the purpose of Styles's experiments and the nature of what is happening.
