Gunpoint is a stealth puzzle game about a freelance spy who takes jobs infiltrating secure buildings to steal sensitive data. Across 20 missions, a story of murder and espionage unfolds as the spy uses an electronic gadget to reroute connections between security devices. A light switch, for example, can be linked to a trapdoor to catch a guard off balance.

Players can trick guards into disabling security systems, harming one another, or falling into traps. Missions can be approached quickly, quietly, non-violently, or through a combination of styles, with specialist gadgets available to support different tactics. When speaking with clients, the spy can choose what to reveal and can lie to deceive them. Story sections and the hardest puzzles are optional.
