Set in the fictional online game The World, this role-playing game continues Haseo and his friends’ story after the events of .hack//G.U. Vol. 1: Rebirth. Unable to log out and with one of their companions’ life hanging in the balance, the group races to purge the game servers of corrupted data.

The battle system adds new fighting styles, while party and steam bike customization provide further options. A separate card-based minigame, Crimson VS, lets players collect cards, build a deck, and compete in tournaments across The World.
