Set in 2029 in a parallel world inhabited by anthropomorphic animals, Hacktag is a stealth action game about mercenaries carrying out industrial espionage for corporations competing for dominance. Infiltration requires two people to work together, taking on the roles of a field Agent and a Hacker who enters the same location through a virtual network.
The Agent sneaks through buildings from an isometric perspective, while the Hacker views them as a holographic blueprint and interacts with cameras, doors, and other devices. Co-op missions involve disabling alarms and opening routes, while single-player mode has one player control both roles. Characters gain experience and unlock active and passive skills, and their appearance can also be customized.
