Highlands

Highlands is a turn-based strategy game with role-playing elements, in which exiles attempt to reclaim their homeland from mysterious overlords and their mechanical army. The player assembles a force and manages supplies such as food, weapons and recruits, making decisions that shape the campaign.

Battles feature individual heroes with their own traits and abilities, divided into four classes: combatants attack and defend sectors, mechanics fortify positions and craft items, leaders gather resources and recruit heroes, while academics heal troops and assist with other tasks. As the campaign advances, new territories and production areas become available. Choosing which sectors to capture or concede shifts the front lines, while tactical battles, resource management and asymmetric gameplay make decisions central to the strategy.
