Illusoria is a 2D platformer set in a fantasy kingdom, where the Keeper of the Flame must protect the realm and Empress Amelia from the Puppet Master, whose arrival corrupts living beings and turns them into monsters. To oppose him, the hero must gain the Guardian’s power as the enemy grows stronger.
Players explore levels, run, climb, cling to ledges and clear obstacles with jumps of varying lengths. New combat abilities become available as the story progresses, including fireballs, a flaming shield and a fiery lunge through enemies. Notes and scrolls found along the way reveal more about Illusoria and its inhabitants. The environments use digital illustrations, while the characters and animation are hand-painted frame by frame.
