This first-person futuristic shooter follows the conflict between the Vektans and the Helghast, rival factions living on the same planet on opposite sides of a vast wall. Thirty years after the events of Killzone 3, their cold war threatens to erupt into open conflict. Lucas Kellan, a member of the Shadow Marshals, is tasked with protecting the fragile peace; his missions range from stealth infiltrations to full-scale combat, with any mistake risking disaster.
Players fight across varied environments, using high-tech abilities and multipurpose weapons to choose how to approach their enemies. Alongside the single-player campaign, the game features online modes with battles for up to 24 players, as well as tools to create and share custom warzones.
