This platformer with arcade and fighting elements follows Kirby as he sets out to rescue King Dedede, kidnapped by a mysterious being atop a giant Dreamstalk. The side-scrolling levels use 3D depth, letting Kirby move between foreground and background, fight enemies, and copy their abilities, including Archer, Beetle, and Sword.
Kirby’s Hypernova ability lets him inhale obstacles and large sections of levels. Alongside the main adventure, the game includes a solo Arena and the rhythm mode Dedede’s Drum Dash, while Kirby Fighters offers battles for up to four players using chosen abilities. Hidden keychains depicting characters from the series can be collected in levels, and StreetPass unlocks additional items and keychains.
