This third-person adventure game with puzzles, based on the crime series Law & Order: Criminal Intent, follows Detective Robert Goren as he investigates a series of cases. The player searches crime scenes for evidence and interviews witnesses and suspects.

Interrogations use a psychological approach to help break down suspects. Before solving each case, the player builds a profile using criminal-profiling techniques, while puzzles of varying difficulty form part of the investigations.
