This open-world horror game is set on the fictional island of Berdwood in Northern Europe. The protagonist returns to their birthplace and finds no living people, despite the island having a population of around two thousand. Exploring the area reveals what happened to its inhabitants, while a choice made along the way affects the island’s fate; the story has two endings.

Berdwood is open to explore from the start and contains traces of its residents’ history. Its landscape includes forests, fields, abandoned villages, mines, and mountains, with working vehicles available for faster travel. The time of day shapes the atmosphere: daylight is for investigating the island and its mysteries, while enemies emerge at night.
