Lock 'n' Load is a twin-stick shooter about an evil little girl seeking to conquer the world. The player takes up arms to stop her and save the day. The main campaign consists of 16 levels, while completing it unlocks Call of Minions, an additional campaign with nine levels. Six challenge maps provide separate combat trials.

Combat involves using a range of weapons, including shotguns and a chainsaw, against enemies. The 32 enemy types include zombies and giant pumpkins. The game also features minigames alongside its combat levels.
