This adventure puzzle game follows Josef, a robot thrown onto a scrap heap outside the city of Machinarium. He must return to the robot city, confront the Black Cap Brotherhood, and rescue his girlfriend Berta and the mayor.
Players solve logic puzzles, complete quests, and take on mini-games. The world is inhabited by robots of varied shapes and functions, who communicate through animated comic-style bubbles and symbols rather than lengthy dialogue. The backgrounds and characters are hand-drawn.
