An American football sports simulation in which players control teams on the field and shape the course of a match on both offense and defense. Defensive options include changing assignments before the snap, with double teams and player-specific matchups. The Hit Stick delivers a forceful tackle that can cause a turnover and shift momentum, though mistiming it may leave the opponent open for a big play.
In Franchise Mode, players react to events over the season: a hard-working athlete can be named team captain, while an unhappy one can be traded. A game-by-game progression system rewards performance, and Storyline Central gathers league news from radio host Tony Bruno and newspapers to inform franchise decisions. The game also features quick online tournaments and the Rushing Attack minigame.
