This first-person adventure with visual-novel elements follows an investigation into a series of gruesome murders and the disappearance of journalist Jack Lorski and his companion. Soon after they vanish, Jack’s agency receives a disc containing footage from his investigation, setting off a game of cat and mouse with a serial killer known as the Phoenix.

The player examines clues and tries to connect the journalist’s disappearance to the murders. The investigation makes use of the internet and email: characters, including the Phoenix, send messages containing clues, while information can also be found on real websites and pages created specifically for the game.
