This science-fiction visual novel follows humanity’s war against the alien BETA, which invaded Earth in 1973. In 2001, American test pilot Yuuya Bridges arrives at a base in Alaska, where an international team is developing new weapons: Tactical Surface Fighters. Assigned to the unit testing these machines, he must work with Yui Takamura, a strict Japanese officer overseeing the project.
Muv-Luv Alternative Total Eclipse tells a stand-alone story that unfolds alongside the events of Muv-Luv Alternative, presenting another perspective on the war against the BETA. Yuuya works with the team’s pilots and engineers, though his cocky attitude puts him at odds with them. The story centers on developing a new fighter for the Empire of Japan and the relationships within the international team.
