Cold Start Fix improves engine startup behavior by intelligently shortening starter time when the car’s electrics are working properly.

The mod checks the electrical system and battery charge during engine start. If conditions are good, the starter disengages earlier, simulating a realistic and healthy cold start. When the battery is weak or electrics are faulty, the vanilla behavior remains unchanged.

Features:

  • Faster and more realistic cold starts.
  • Automatically disengages the starter when conditions are met.
  • No cheats — weak batteries still struggle to start.
  • Currently supports only Corris.

Melonloader version installation:

  • Download and install Melonloader: run the installer and select MyWinterCar.exe.
  • Download the mod.
  • Extract ColdStartFix.dll to the My Winter Car\Mods folder.
  • Launch the game.

BepInEx version installation:

  • Download and install BepInEx: extract it to the game folder.
  • Launch the game once to create the folders.
  • Download the mod.
  • Extract ColdStartFix.dll to the My Winter Car\BepInEx\plugins folder.
  • Launch the game.
