When this game first came out, I, like many others, scoffed at it. A disastrous launch, a lack of promised features, tons of negativity. It was only years later, when Steam had 80 percent positive reviews, that I finally decided to buy it. Now I understand why people changed their minds.
I'm someone who loves space not for the action, but for the atmosphere. And in this regard, No Man's Sky offers something almost no other game can. You wake up on a random planet, fix your ship, take off, and realize there are no limits. Literally. Quintillions of worlds you can reach without a single loading screen. That feeling when you step out of your ship on an icy desert, an alien moon hanging overhead, and a star setting somewhere on the horizon—it's indescribable.
