This rhythm-action game with strategy elements follows the Patapon tribe, driven from its homeland by the Zigoton army. As their deity, the player commands the troops with a war drum: rhythmic patterns order them to march, attack, defend, retreat, or use magic.
Each mission calls for choosing drumbeat sequences and building an army, equipping its soldiers with weapons and armor, and positioning them for battle. The adventure includes more than 30 missions, such as hunts, escorts, and boss fights, along with five music-based mini-games that reward upgrades. New items and weapons become available as the campaign progresses.
