A football simulation in which match outcomes depend on tactics and quick reactions. Zonal defending calls for attention to both space and players, while attacking requires finding new openings. Goalkeepers have a broader range of abilities, and revised referee AI aims to produce more balanced decisions.
Visual updates include more lifelike player likenesses, animations and facial expressions, with an improved lighting system distinguishing different conditions. PES 2010 seeks to bring the flow of play and the actions of match participants closer to real football.
