This strategy role-playing game follows Marona, an orphan who can see and communicate with phantoms. She lives on Phantom Isle with Ash, a phantom who serves as her companion and guardian, and takes on requests from people sent in bottles by sea. Though others distrust her because of her abilities, Marona hopes to earn enough to buy the island she rents.

Battles use a turn-based system without a grid, allowing characters to be placed freely across the battlefield. Players create and customize soldiers by choosing their jobs, skills, and magic spells. The story unfolds through episodes following the adventures of Marona and Ash.
