Pull Stay combines beat ’em up combat with tower defense: a guardian robot protects the home of Susumu, a shut-in who has spent years in his room. Enemies approach for various reasons, and the game ends if they reach him.
The robot can fight with its fists and learn new moves by defeating different enemy types, or repel attackers with traps and gadgets. These include a baked-fish missile, a toothpaste turret and a watermelon bazooka, among 15 types of devices to unlock. Breaking into neighbors’ houses provides resources for setting traps and building rooms, while Susumu can make power-up items. Bosses also appear alongside regular enemies.
