This isometric role-playing game with real-time combat takes place on Matrosskaya Tishina, a prison planet where hardened criminals are exiled. Planet Alcatraz combines a nonlinear adventure with frequent shootouts and uses specially designed role-playing and combat systems.

The player controls a group that starts with a single member and grows as the story progresses. Character creation allows the player to adjust the protagonist’s basic attributes and appearance. Dialogue offers choices in how to behave and communicate, while combat involves different tactical options and a range of weapons, from firearms to melee arms; the planet is also home to many kinds of monsters.
