Slip is a side-scrolling platformer built around switching between two colors as a cuboid hero evades Steve and his beam while navigating obstacles and enemies. Projectiles matching the hero’s color can be absorbed, while those of the opposite color are fatal. Platforms and other objects can be interacted with only when their color matches: launch rings propel the hero, gravity wells pull him in, and phase-shift platforms move him vertically.
The game has 12 levels linked by an overworld, with each stage unlocked after the previous one is completed. Frequent checkpoints break up the challenging courses, and lives are unlimited. A mini-boss or boss encounter awaits at the end of every level; these sequences switch to autorun, while the player adjusts the hero’s horizontal position.
