This third-person tactical shooter follows a Navy SEAL unit defending the United States and its allies in military operations. In SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs - Fireteam Bravo 2, the player commands a squad and carries out missions using stealth, tactical maneuvers, and direct combat, with an AI-controlled teammate providing support. Mission progression is non-linear: players can choose which assignment to tackle next and return to areas where enemy activity has resurfaced.
A persistent rating system tracks performance throughout the campaign. Completing objectives, finding bonus goals, and rescuing civilians earns Command Equity points, which can be spent on weapons, air strikes, and supply drops. Increasing Local Influence grants access to black-market weapons and intelligence from locals. Multiplayer features team competitions across three game types, with matches supporting up to 16 players.
