Set in a dark fantasy world where magic is a craft, this role-playing game tells a story about the nature of reality, power, and morality. The player explores the world, interacts with non-player characters, takes quests, and makes moral choices.
Turn-based tactical battles involve summoning troops and sending them into combat. Spells are cast by drawing signs, which the game recognizes to select the corresponding spell; consulting the spellbook takes extra time, while casting more quickly makes a spell more powerful. The game is divided into three acts, each with three levels set in different locations and featuring a different playable character: a human, a necromancer, or an elf.
