A competitive tower defense strategy game, Tower Wars combines fortification building with real-time strategy and battles between players. Matches support teams of one, two, or three players per side, in ranked or unranked play. Players build and upgrade towers to form mazes for incoming enemies, while assembling and improving specialized units to send against opponents in waves.
Researching technologies enhances the abilities and stats of both towers and units. Alongside online matches, the game includes classic offline tower defense maps with time-trial challenges. Its presentation uses a comic style inspired by an old-world setting.
